Mother’s Day pampering treats…

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day & what a lovely day it was! The hubby & I thought it would be a great idea if we could plan something to be able to celebrate with both of our mum’s on the day together. They both love spending time with the family & their kids so we planned a nice family lunch & I arranged for my brother to come up from London as a surprise. But we wanted them to have something special beforehand so we booked into Jo Malone for a hand & arm massage.

Jo Malone in Cambridge is a beautiful shop, clean lines, stunning displays & a welcoming atmosphere.

I have always lusted over their gorgeous candles & so when we were deciding what to do for our mum’s on Mother’s Day I thought it was a perfect opportunity to not only treat the special ladies in our lives but also learn a bit more about the shop & their products & I wasn’t disappointed. The hand & arm massage we had is totally complimentary & although they only normally have a maximum of 3 guests they were kind enough to squeeze 1 more in for us so myself, the mum’s & my sister-in-law could all take part together.

We started of with a glass of bubbles & then our Stylist Clara talked us through the treatment & what we would be learning. We had 5 scents to try from their new collection the Herb Garden… find out more here.

This new range has been created to celebrate the english garden & uses a range of herbs & floral scents to create these 5 colognes. We learnt that they have significantly less ingredients in them compared to perfumes which gives them a clean, fresh scent. Each 1 had a very different scent, from a summer walk through the fields to running your fingers through the grass there really was something for everyone & I settled on a citrus scent for my treatment.

The hand & arm massage was dreamy! Not only was it super relaxing but the smell was divine! The colognes we had chosen were then combined with an English pear & freesia wash & cream which left us smelling beautiful & was non oily, my skin was soft soft soft!

The service we received – considering the treatment was entirely complimentary – was top-notch. From the rather large glasses of champagne we received as soon as we sat down to the lovely velvet branded fabric bags we were given to put our rings in during the treatment & take home with us afterwards, I couldn’t fault the attention to detail.

After we had all had our treatments we had time to explore the shop & ask any questions about products. We had a good old sniff of some other fragrances in store but I think we were all a lot clearer about what we liked & what suited us after the treatment.

So if you fancy learning more about the Jo Malone products & having a little pamper session at the same time I really can’t recommend it enough! We all had a lovely time, the mum’s left feeling pampered & then we surprised them with a big family lunch at the Cambridge Brew House afterwards & flowers to boot, lucky ladies hey!

It’s actually my birthday today & due to the powers of scheduling, while you read this I will be cozying up in our little wooden pod on the Suffolk coast! Cheers!
